Seeking Enthusiastic and Motivated Course/Student Advisors for our Johannesburg Office!
The Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT) is a leading international engineering training and education provider, offering industry driven professional certificates and accredited Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, Graduate Certificates, Bachelor Degrees and Master Degrees. Our students study through EIT’s unique, live online methodology or on campus in Australia.
Due to our continued growth we are looking for positive, confident, motivated and enthusiastic team members to join us as a Course Advisor at our office in Midrand.
Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Providing accurate enrolment advice to prospective students nationally and internationally
- Taking charge of inbound and outbound phone and web-based enquiries from potential students and maintaining records of contacts made.
- Following up and converting phone and email enquiries into student registrations
- Actively and efficiently answering incoming Live Chat enquiries
- Creating relationships with potential students leading through to class enrolments and commencements
- Ensuring the accurate management of the EIT student database
- Working on various telemarketing campaigns and calling prospective students
- Contacting individuals by telephone to promote EIT programs
- Explaining programs and eligibility requirements to potential students
- Adhoc admin tasks that may arise.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- ID/ valid work permit
- Tertiary education – essential (Bachelor’s added advantage)
- 2 years’ experience, plus
- Excellent verbal and written skills - English language
- Experience with being on the 'front line' of customer service with a strong customer focus;
- Excellent administrative skills
- Strong working knowledge- Microsoft Office suite
- Attention to detail, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work under pressure and work collaboratively in a team environment
- A strong desire to exceed your KPI’s;
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
- Experience in a similar role;
- Education industry background;
- Proficient in the use of email software & CRM systems

Employment Type: Contractor
The Engineering Institute of Technology offers outstanding practical engineering and technology education; from Professional Certificates of Competency through to Masters Degrees. We are currently seeking engineering lecturers and instructors, with extensive experience in industry to deliver units in our Professional Certificate of Competency, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Degree and Masters online courses and programs. EIT’s programs are taught using unique synchronous, online technologies including live interactive sessions over the internet, combined with practical exercises completed using remote laboratories and simulation software.
Successful candidates will need to demonstrate an established industry profile, a commitment to excellence and ideally have teaching experience. You can be located anywhere as instructors and lecturers will be required to deliver online via webinars (approximately 1 hour in length). The Engineering Institute of Technology will provide all course material. You will simply require a computer with reliable internet connection, a headset with a high quality microphone and a clear and enthusiastic speaking voice. You may be required to teach outside of standard business hours.
For lecturers of Degree and Masters programs, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Highly developed written communication skills in English.
- Highly developed oral communication skills in English.
- Completed formal qualification in an engineering technical area. A PhD or Masters Degree is preferable with at least 5 years industry related work experience.
- Bachelors degree with at least 10 years industry related work experience.
- Previous teaching experience and the ability to deliver a richly interactive and personalised approach to learning focused on student success.
- A customer-centric approach.
For instructors of Professional Certificate of Competency, Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses, you must be able to demonstrate.
- Highly developed written communication skills in English.
- Highly developed oral communication skills in English.
- Completed formal qualification in an engineering technical area at advanced diploma level and above.
- At least 5 years Industry related, professional engineering experience.
- Willingness to undertake the presenter skill set units in the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. (For diploma and advanced diploma only, successful applicants that complete the units will have the costs of the units fully reimbursed by EIT.)
- A customer-centric approach.
